Well, we thought we would take this opportunity to explain a little bit as to why we put together these newsletters. Firstly, we like to keep you abreast of developments in Malta’s CIT world through our eyes, hopefully in a fun and informative manner. It is also a challenge for us to do this alphabetically, whilst at the same time being enjoyable (although we are not looking forward to the letters Q, X and Z). Of course, it also serves as a great way for us to keep in touch even when we are not working on a particular project…..we hope you continue to enjoy it and give us your feedback.

Large Scale Events

Although small, Malta has recently become more and more recognised as a destination for large scale events. Accommodation in one area (within walking distance) is no longer an issue as within Malta’s golden mile, St. Julian’s, we have a plethora of 5 star hotels, such as the Radisson Blu, Corinthia, Westin Dragonara, Intercontinental and Hilton whereas the Le Meridien St. Julian’s is just a short transfer away. These properties are supported by large scale meeting venues such as the MFCC, Mediterranean Conference Centre, Hilton Convention Centre and Eden Arena.

La Valette Lounge

An ideal way to round off your visit to Malta in style, this service is ideal for VIP clients prior to boarding their flight at the end of their conference or incentive in Malta. The new La Valette lounge can accommodate up to 140 seated guests in an environment of luxury and comfort. Guests can help themselves to food and beverages, including a free alcoholic bar. Guests travelling with a

laptop are welcome to make use of the free Wi-Fi service throughout the lounge.

Level 22

The tower is currently the only skyscraper in Malta, at around 98 meters high and possessing 22 floors. We can exclusively hire this chic and funky club situated on the top of the tower, namely “Club 22”. Being on the 22nd floor, the views are absolutely breathtaking and the décor/ambience is super cool. How about an evening of truly chic ambience with the guests being served a 1st class flying food dinner followed by a superb after party?

Limits

When in Malta, why not take the opportunity to push your clients to their limits? We can offer a number of rip roaring and exciting activities to fuel the adrenalin junkie hidden inside all of us. Lovin’ Life

Malta is the happiest country in the Western world according to New Economics Foundation ‘Happy Planet Index’. The index was published in association with Friends of the Earth, and moves beyond ratings of nations according to national income measured by Gross Domestic Product. Instead the picture of each nation’s happiness was drawn from the progress of nations based on the length and happiness of people’s lives.

Manoel Island

Have you ever thought about how amazing it could be to organise your gala event on an island within a large natural harbour, with Malta’s capital city of Valletta lit up like a beacon as the backdrop? Following major restoration works to repair the ravages of time, we now have the possibility to dine in Fort Manoel on Manoel Island itself. The fort was built by the Knight’s of St. John between 1723 and 1755 by Portuguese Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena. A stunning and unique venue for your next group event.

Misconceptions

Malta as a destination often suffers from misconceptions concerning its ability to excel as a location for MICE related events. These opinions are often formed and communicated by people that have not visited the islands in the past decade or by individuals that have never been here at all. Comments one hears from time to time range from there being “no sandy beaches” to being “an old people’s retirement resort” all the way to “hotel facilities not being up to scratch”. The greatest pleasure we derive from such comments is to prove them wrong through our Educational trips. Most Haunted

Having a history of over 5000 years, being conquered by many a nation through fierce battles, with assassinations in the dark alleyways, Mdina, Malta’s ancient former capital city offers the right setup for this experience with its creepy narrow street and failing daylight – this is certainly not for the faint hearted. With the aid of a night vision camera, some costumes and other items to aid in your production, you too can recreate a most haunted experience. The aim of this event is to help a group communicate ideas, plan out their story, choose the actors and co-ordinate the filming of this short film. Once these films are edited by our crew, we will have a premier of these terrifying films on a big screen for the whole group to enjoy.

Numbers

In Malta we are lucky to be so small that you will never spend long travelling from one place to another, but on the other hand have the infrastructure to host groups consisting of over 1000 persons. That is one of the beauties of this destination. We are happy to handle your smallest VIP group of 10 persons with an amazing programme including luxury cabin cruisers, flights in seaplanes and dining in amazing as well as exclusive venues through to your large conference consisting of over 1000 persons. For groups of this size, we are in a position to offer you a choice of meeting space to take all delegates in one room and also a choice of exclusive dining venues, again, all in one room.

Notte Bianca

How about having the perfect evening for your group on a beach, in a fort or even on a boat? However, the theme and emphasis of the evening will be the colour white. This means a complete white set up with white furniture, white lighting, white draping and décor. The final result is absolutely stunning with either the crystal Mediterranean or sand stone bastions as your backdrop. Obviously, the participants will be encouraged to join the evening dressed in white……entering the venue with their “white cocktails” as the band decked out in white start to play and the white performers start their exciting show.

Nightlife

St. Julian’s, where the majority of Malta’s five star hotels are located along Malta’s golden mile, is Malta’s main nightlife Mecca. There is simply something for everyone with bars and clubs to suit all ages and music styles. This is one of the reasons why Malta has a growing reputation as an excellent location to hold your meeting or event. Over and above the clubs and bars, St. Julian’s also offer shopping, cinemas, 10 pen bowling or simply pleasant walks along the picturesque seafront. St. Julian’s has it all!

Northern Malta

Although Malta’s southern and eastern areas are densely populated and built up, the further one travels towards the north of the island, the more one can discover Malta’s pretty and at times stunning countryside. Head northwest and discover Dingli Cliffs, which at times rise over 200 metres above the Mediterranean. Heading further north one starts to discover some of Malta’s excellent sandy beaches as well as hidden away restaurants like Rogantino’s, venues for dinners such as Castello Zammitello and secluded but excellent hotels such as the Radisson Blu Golden Sands Resort.
