Destination
THE FRENCH RIVIERAOne of the world's most glamorous and sophisticated destinations the Cote D`Azur includes the three main centres of Cannes, Nice and Monaco together with a host of delightful smaller towns, villages and attractions that can be incorporated into your programme.
CANNES, once a small Roman outpost on the edge of a swamp, overrun with reeds of Cannae, a plant that gave Cannes its name. For years it was a peaceful fishing village, until the turn of the 20th Century when visitors from Germany, Russia and England began to arrive.
Today, home to the annual film festival Cannes offers La Croisette, stretching from the famous Palm Beach to the Palais des Festivals and bordered by the cafe terraces of luxury hotels, fashionable boutiques, palm trees and numerous private and public beaches, all of fine white sand offering a choice of al-fresco restaurants and bars, and a wide range of water sports.
NICE, Capital of the Riviera and the second largest city on the French Mediterranean coast is an attractive blend of the old town, nestled below the castle with its labyrinth of narrow streets, tall houses and tiny squares, the port area and the world famous Promenade des Anglais, with its collection of fashionable hotels, and beach restaurants.
There is an excellent range of night life and superb shopping which ranges from designer boutiques to the famous Flower Market of Cours Saleya.
MONTE CARLO, the jewel in the crown of the Riviera the Principality of Monaco is renowned for its sophistication and luxury. It is a world class venue for conferences, incentives and product launches with a high perceived value, more than justified by the range of hotels, restaurants, shops, clubs, and sports facilities.
SAINT TROPEZ
With miles of rugged scenery and beautiful sun-soaked beaches surrounding a series of chic resorts, the St. Tropez area is surely one of the most famous, fashionable and "people" in all France and one of the world's most beautiful destinations. In high season spot the celebrities behind the designer sun glasses, or stroll the dreamy port with its gleaming yachts and cruisers, browse the trend-setting shops or take in the magnificent atmosphere.

Suggested Sightseeing
FULL DAY
EZE / MONACO
A day out of time, in this unreal little secluded country called the Principality of Monaco. The coach(es) will take the ‘middle corniche’, most scenic road. Stop en route to visit Eze, called the Eagles Nest as this fascinating hill top village looks down from its 1,388 ft on the French Riviera, up through the village, where one can appreciate the charm of its mediaeval houses added to the luxury of high-class restauration, to reach its Tropical Gardens. From this view points, your guests will discover the Riviera coastline from Antibes to Italy...
Arrival in Monaco on time for the changing of the Guard, on the Palace square, (11.55 am).
The coaches will then take the guests towards Monte-Carlo, via the harbour. Lunch en route at the RESTAURANT DU PORT (or similar), facing the yachts.
Then, visit of the Casino and leisure time (most people usually meet after a while at the Café de Paris, a window on the casino square from where looking out is a permanent show !).
OR
... A DAY IN PROVENCE
The Greeks planted the first vines in Provence in 600 BC and produced the first wines in a country to be known later as France. These wines were rosés. From then to nowadays, via the Romans then the 17th-18th centuries, you will be given a summary of this very interesting part of French history at LA MAISON DES VINS COTES DE PROVENCE (House of Wines) But more than just listening, you will learn, with a professional how to taste a wine and recognise a vintage during a one hour session.
Then the trip will take you to the medieval village of LES ARCS, where your guide will tell the story of this place which dates back to 1010, the oldest part of which still contains numerous vestiges of the Middle Ages.
Lunch will be taken at the LOGIS DU GUETTEUR, a delightful place tucked under the deep shade of the castle keep from which it got its name. Renovated in a charming way, the original character has been preserved.
After lunch, the trip will go on deeper into Provencal nature to the ABBAYE DU THORONET a jewel of ciscercian architecture, where you will enjoy the quietness and magnificence of the area.
HALF DAY
ST PAUL DE VENCE
The medieval village of Saint Paul de Vence founded by the Celto-Ligurian tribes was fortified in the XVIth and thus allies the pleasures of history in beautiful surroundings. It is a cultural an artistic revival, where painters came to seek inspiration (Picasso, Leger, Chagall, Miro, Dufy...). Numerous art galleries and gift shops still witness this, and the famous MAEGHT FOUNDATION, the highlight of modern art gatherings, can be offered as an optional visit.
NICE, CAP FERRAT, VILLEFRANCHE
Every morning but Mondays, the old Nice FLOWER and PROVENCAL MARKET offers its thousands of scents and colours.
Strolling in this atmosphere will enhance your interest in the history of this city the guides will make you discover with passion - showing the most interesting spots.
This tour will then resume estwards to CAP FERRAT, where, amongst fabulous villas, stands the ROTSCHILD FOUNDATION.
There, Béatrice de ROTHSCHILD-EPHRUSSI's imagination producted the Villa Ile-de-France, which resembles an Italian Palace in Paradise gardens. It houses an outstanding collection of Sevres and Meissen porcelain.
Lunch will then take place on the bay of the lovely fishermen's village : VILLEFRANCHE.
