DESTINATIONS
There are no less than 46 sites in Germany on the UNESCO World Heritage list. They range from historical buildings, to exceptional natural landscapes, and even entire heritage-protected towns. Thus, there is something to discover for everyone in Germany – diverse landscapes from the North Sea down to the Alps, large and small cities and towns with historical sites and festivals like Oktoberfest in Munich, the Cologne Carnival and the romantic Christmas markets. Here are three examples:
BERLIN
Germany’s heterogeneous iridescent capital with almost 4 Mio inhabitants has returned to the world stage. The city is shaped by an eventful and turbulent history that covers the periods of the Prussian kingdom, both WW I and WW II, the roaring interwar period, as well as being at the centre of the Cold War as a divided city, and later being the focus of attention during the fall of the iron curtain.
These days, Berlin is one of the most exciting metropolises in Europe where east and west come together. The city is alive and creative, and there is something new to discover everywhere whether in design or architecture, fashion or art, theatre or museums, clubs, having unique shopping experiences, meeting with start-up businesses, or exploring its rich university or political landscapes.
HAMBURG
Hamburg is situated in the very north of Germany at the Elbe Rivers and is the second largest city in Germany with the second largest harbour in Europe. This Hanseatic town with its extraordinarily beautiful maritime and vital cosmopolitan culture is a gem waiting to be discovered by the conference and incentive organiser.
A great variety of theatres, concert halls (including the new landmark Elbphilharmonie!) and museums, over three thousand pubs, taverns and restaurants offering a selection of over forty different cuisines, and a vibrant and diverse nightlife sometimes verging on the erotic make this city unique.
MUNICH
Munich is not just a city of beer and gardens with a well-preserved medieval district, fine buildings, grand boulevards and squares, it is also a cosmopolitan city. As an important center for art and music, it is home to the world-famous “Glockenspiel” as well as outstanding museums and galleries. Discover “BMW World”, a modern event location and museum of the well-known car manufacturer, as well as the “Allianz Arena”, home of the famous football team FC Bayern Munich.
Located in the heart of Bavaria and at the foot of the Alps, the city is an excellent starting point for exploring the impressive Bavarian landscapes and visiting the spectacular fairy-tale castle of King Ludwig, Neuschwanstein or Mozart’s beautiful Salzburg in Austria.
A Bavarian Evening
Enjoy the Oktoberfest with original food and beverage anywhere in Germany! A folklore band and a folklore dance group, “Goasslschalzer” (mountain whip artists), yodlers and Bavarian shoe platters will provide original musical entertainment. Additional activities can be organised such as shooting booths, fairground organs, or strong-man competitions, etc.
Casino Royal with James Bond
Dressed like an agent and with a Martini in your hand, stay calm and cool at the games and keep your poker face. Diverse gambling tables await you to exhaust your skills in Roulette, Black Jack or Poker. Develop new strategies in the lounge and challenge your colleagues and bet for the next cool drink at the bar.
The Roaring Twenties
Feather boas, pearl necklaces, fake beards, cigars etc. welcome your guests at the entrance and will take them in a different time. Marlene Dietrich is going to entertain with music and Charlie Chaplin with some comedy, and not to be forgotten the legendary Al Capone will stop by as well. The set up is made of red heavy fabrics and a live performance on stage.
Welcome to Germany – A Country Shaped by its Regions
A culinary evening to explore the country from the maritime north to the impressive mountain landscape of the south, from the lively capital in the newly developed eastern areas to the carnival-loving wine regions in the west. Unmistakable and exquisite decorations and food will create a charming and characteristic atmosphere.
