COVID 19 Operational Guidelines
Not many destination's have thousands of years’ experience as a meeting place. At the crossroads of maritime routes, the Maltese Islands have been a point of encounter for a host of people as a home, stronghold, trading post and refuge for over 7000 years. From temple builders, seafaring Phoenicians and the traveler Apostle Paul, to the Knights of St John, Napoleon and British royalty - all have set foot here leaving their imprint for you to discover.
For a venue with a difference, Malta is not just sea and sun, but a tangible history book of landmark events that unfolds at every corner. Prehistoric temples, exquisite palaces, impressive fortifications and unique architecture form the exclusive back drop to the events and programmes, designed to create the ultimate event.
Although Malta offers a wide range of fascinating archaeological and architectural monuments, it also boasts a selection of hotels and conference centres, which are designed to host meetings of various dimensions. Malta’s state of the art facilities and modern technology are the result of its heavy investment in infrastructure, aiming to attract more business tourism and to continue its long-standing and quality tradition of welcoming and hosting foreigners.
Located in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta offers proximity not only within the country itself, where little time is spent getting from one place to another, but flight times from major European Gateways are generally no longer than three hours.
Located in the middle of the Mediterranean, Malta is an independent republic consisting of a group of five small islands - Malta, Gozo and Comino, all of which are inhabited, and the smaller and uninhabited islands of Cominotto, Filfla and St. Paul's Islands.
Lying approximately 93 km to the south of Sicily and about 293 km to the North of the African mainland, the 316 km2 archipelago offers proximity not only within the country itself, where little time is spent getting from one place to another, but flight times from major European gateways are generally no longer than three hours.
Malta has neither mountains nor rivers and the islands are characterised by a series of low hills with terraced fields. The shoreline, which is 137 kilometres long, has many bays and harbours, with a good selection of small sandy beaches and rocky coves. Malta is comparatively low lying, the highest point being about 239 metres above sea level.
It is the climate that has made Malta an important tourist resort in the centre of the Mediterranean. The total annual rainfall is about 50 cms.
With temperatures averaging 14°C in winter and 32°C in the summer months, Malta offers a warm and mild climate throughout most of the year. The hottest months are from the middle of July to the middle of September, but the high temperatures are generally tempered by the cool sea breezes.

Colours of the Mediterranean
Welcome to the heart of the Mediterranean! Experience a glowing evening of food and entertainment from the countries around this beautiful sea. Since time immemorial, the Mediterranean Basin has been the crossroads of encounters between the peoples and cultures of Africa, the Near East and Europe and the indispensable gateway for the Middle and Far East. A cradle of civilisations, it forms the finest melting-pot and the guests will be able to enjoy a night in a Mediterranean setting.
The overall décor of the evening will focus on warmth and bright colours in keeping with the Mediterranean region and therefore an abundance of fire torches, fire bowls, coloured candle holders & lanterns will be spread around the gardens to achieve an overall glow. The Knights of St. John at La Valette Hall

The halls of the Sacra Infermeria were lined with comfortable beds for the sick and injured who were treated with the most advanced techniques and fed on silver platters irrespective of their social status.
The guests will be welcomed to the venue by an entourage of knights dressed in period costume who greet them with fanfares and drum rolls, whilst others stand with torches and lances. The master of ceremonies and his noble lady await the guests and lead them downstairs into the welcome area, whose backdrop consists of a heavy velvet curtain and two lance bearers standing guard.
After the guests have enjoyed a welcome drink and some canapés, the master of ceremonies will declare the banquet open and invite the guests through the red curtain into the stunningly decorated dining area. The walls of La Valette Hall will be lined with standing banners and candelabras, whilst the tables dressed in keeping with the Maltese colours and lit by wrought iron candelabras create the perfect setting for the dinner ahead.
During the night, the Grand Master will make an appearance and proclaim the “chosen ones” as Knights of the Order of Melitensia and depending on the client’s preferences, a wide range of entertainment options are available for during and after the meal. These may be suggested on request.

The Maltese Cooking Challenge
Welcome to the Maltese Cooking Challenge! The objective of this day's activity is to test the guest’s innovation and creativity by working together in teams of 5 to solve clues, obtain ingredients for the best possible price and create a meal fit for royalty. This should be achieved incorporating as much humour and fun as possible. To successfully complete the Maltese Cooking Challenge, the teams need to invent and cook a typically Mediterranean / Maltese dish, find the perfect wine to accompany it, present it professionally and pass the taste test.
The challenge is divided into two parts, first solving the clues and gathering the ingredients by driving around the island in jeeps. In the meantime, the questions laid out in the clue book will lead the participants to different parts of the island and will eventually give the teams the name of the fish that they should purchase and which should be the main ingredient in their meal.
A fully fledged kitchen will be set up for the teams and they will have 45 minutes to prepare their meal after which professional chefs will judge the team’s performance according to a number of criteria used to assess professional cooking competitions.
Battle of the Seas
Voyaging through the azure Maltese sea our esteemed guests will have a unique opportunity to experience a clash of the eras which is about to occur before their eyes. The Pirates have risen from the depths to challenge the gallant Knights.
Split into two main teams - The Knights and The Pirates - each team will be given a gullet and props to wear.
As the gullets start cruising towards the battle location, the teams must perform various tasks on board the vessels. The more points they gain in their tasks, the more ammunition (water pistols, water cannons and buckets) and targets they can purchase for their vessel and the better chance they will have of sinking the opponents ship before they themselves are “engulfed” by the Mediterranean Waters.
The aim of the battle at sea is to “sink” your opponent’s vessel which is achieved as the vessels criss cross each other within a few meters and the Knights and Pirates will use their cannons & water guns to destroy each other’s targets.
Other gift ideas can be given on request.
